Italy | Venice

During my Europe road trip in 2015 I visited Venice as it was somewhere I had always wanted to go to. Other than the vast amount of tourists and the extortionate prices, it’s a very pretty place although I can’t help but feel it’s over-hyped. Composed of over 100 little islands and with no roads, parking here is not easy. However it is a beautiful place and getting lost and wandering through the narrow canals and streets is surreal.
Whilst there I visited:
-
The Grand Canal
-
Piazza San Marco: Large square, sort of like the hub of Venice.
-
Saint Marks Basilica: An architectual masterpiece and the city's most famous church.
-
St. Mark's Campanile: The bell tower of St. Mark's Basilica, with views over Venice and the Piazza San Marco.
